1939 Chevy
Wrap your eyes around a piece of nostalgia as you drive in the Houston area. Allan and Reba Kingsbury go cruisin' at least once a week in their 1939 Chevrolet ½-ton truck. This rod has won much recognition, including a first place in the Autorama. Allan, Director of Automotive Technology at Humble High School for the last 17 years, has his ASE Master certifications in automotive (8 areas), as well as Master paint and body, and Master heavy trucks. Due to his knowledge, he was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1989. He began the truck project about ten years ago to spark the interests of young people who might want into his program. Throughout the years, many students played some part in re-creating the truck. Hot rods today are built fast, but not always safe. Allan's goal was to teach students that safety comes first.
