Dov Kredo's 1949 Ford Well, around here, this is a truck (what you call a truck is a pickup or a tender here). It is a 1949 F-8 that needs a lot of work, but will make a very nice item in my future fantazy - an Israeli Transportation Museum (there isn't one yet). There are two other truck in my collection - a 1950 Mac EH Tipper, very short wheel base, with a Volvo Diesel engine, and a 1959 Volvo Viking with locally built cab. The last one was bought from it's original owner 6 years ago in perfect running conditon! One must be aware that Israel is a very modern country, most of the trucks running around are modern, with the aging ones disappearing quickly - either scraped or exported to third world countries. Thus, all my trucks are very rare here. The porblem is that nobody really cares if nothing is left. Lucky for me, I have a friend living in a village, and he lets me park my trucks in his back yard. I recently purchased a 1949 COE Ford F-5. I am in need of any information on this vehicle. I need, Owners Manual, Sales lit, Shop book, Engine, Glass, Light Fixtures .....Spot lights ...Clearance lights etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Here are some pictures of my 1949 F-1. It has a 239 flathead V-8 and 3 speed floor shift. The steering wheel is the only non original piece. It even has the original factory AM radio! I have rebuilt the brake system and am currently rebuilding the engine and transmission. All it needs is rewired and it's ready to go. UPDATE Here is my latest pic. It won best truck over 6 other entries in it's first show!!(shown in picture below) I have spent the last two years restoring it from the ground up with my two sons.
